Back in February Bethan and I went down to Cudmore Grove to feel the magic of it as we were pitching for this project... We walked, talked, recorded... and while I danced to get a feel for the place Bethan set to sketching.
That day we spoke about the geography and the folklore already attached to the place. I had brought along a book, Anticipatory History from which I read aloud several pertinent entries. This sparked a conversation about what an Anticipatory Folklore might be like, and how that might offer a palliative caretaking for this site that will be so altered by the rising sea levels of the next 25 years...
This video was made to record some of that day. And I think offers a fun springboard for inviting your interest, dear reader, and suggests that we are here to play on this voyage of discovery...
That while we take getting to know a place seriously, we take ourselves far less so...
And that we will be committed to reading stories and poems to the land in the hope that it will return some good ones to us.
